| LAXAI to setup a 100 seater clinical data management center in Hyderabad by Q3 2007 |

Contract research services provider, Laxai Avanti Life Sciences Pvt Ltd, will set up a 100-seat clinical data management centre in Hyderabad by the year-end. The company, which had been allotted a four-acre plot in ICICI Knowledge Park, would also focus on bio-equivalence studies to cater to the needs of mid-sized pharma companies, Mr Vamsi Maddipatla, Chief Executive Officer, Laxai Avanti Life Sciences, told reporters here on Friday.
"The contract research market in India is estimated at $100-120 million and we would invest over Rs 38 crore in expanding our capabilities in contract research services," he said. The firm has launched a training programme on clinical data management. "Globally, clinical data management is fast catching up and there is no trained manpower in this segment. We want to bridge this gap by offering training," Mr Vamsi said.
